Show Not Tell
In Room 17 our focus is to show not tell and use onomatopoeia. Show not tell is when you write a phrase without telling the reader , instead explain it s they get a picture in their mind . Onomatopoeia is a sound word like Zzzzz or ROAR! Here is an example. The sleeping cat. Zzzz, I heard the quiet animal snoring while being cuddled up in a warm and cosy blanket. Bang! The cat's owner accidently popped a balloon. Screech! The cat was furious that it had been woken. So that is what we are learning in our draft writing.
